LSC is a nonpartisan agency providing drafting, fiscal, research, training, and other technical and legislative services to the Ohio General Assembly.  It employs a staff of about 165 persons including attorneys, budget analysts, economists, research associates, and support personnel.  Salaries and fringe benefits are competitive with other state agencies.  The LSC Brochure provides detailed information about LSC services, employment information, staff qualifications, career opportunities, and application procedures.

LSC accepts applications for all positions on a continuing basis.  Persons seeking employment with LSC research or fiscal staff must complete the Research or Fiscal Staff Application and provide a resume, cover letter, college transcripts, and a writing sample (e.g., a research paper or law review article).  Persons seeking employment on the LSC support staff must complete the Support Staff Application.  As part of the application, all applicants must execute an agreement that permits LSC to conduct a background check.
